Support your immune system*! Your health will thank you for it

Our immune system is crucial for our health. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to support your immune system. We explain what you should look out for.

How quickly the immune system reacts varies from person to person. A normal immune system is of the utmost importance. That’s why you should pay attention to this important system. This is especially true when your body’s defenses are somewhat weakened, during the cold seasons or when physiological demands are higher.

How do you recognize a weak immune system?

To find out whether your immune system needs some support, you can ask yourself these questions

Do you often feel tired and exhausted even though you get enough sleep?
Do you have problems concentrating for long periods of time?

If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, you should think about supporting your immune system.

If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, you should think about supporting your immune system.

There are many causes of a weak immune system

Stress and lack of sleep have a very negative effect on the immune system
Smoking and too much alcohol also damage the immune system.
An unbalanced diet can contribute to a weak immune system.
Age also plays a role: in infancy, the immune system first has to train itself to become strong. As we get older, it becomes increasingly weaker.
Cold can weaken the immune system
And finally, genetics also play an important role. The immune system is partly hereditary. However, this does not mean that you cannot do anything yourself. Because our lifestyle habits make a big difference to your body's defenses, even if you are genetically less fortunate.

How can we support the immune system?

Among other things, nutrition is of great importance for a normal immune system. However, in addition to a balanced and varied diet, you can do much more in certain situations:

Make sure you get enough sleep and rest! A constant lack of sleep costs the body a lot of energy, disrupts regeneration and hinders the work of the immune system.
Regular exercise is also important for a healthy immune system. Endurance training in the fresh air is particularly beneficial for the body's defenses.
Try to reduce stress in your life.
Avoid smoking, excessive alcohol consumption and large amounts of caffeine to boost your immune system!
Drinking plenty of fluids is also one of the measures for the immune system. Sufficient fluids help the body to transport immune substances and keep the circulation stable.

Which diet can help to support the body's defenses?

In order for the immune system to work well, it needs many different micronutrients, for example zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D and many other vitamins, minerals and trace elements. All these nutrients contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system and thus to the body’s defenses.

A healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables is a good basis. Variety is an important keyword here. The more different foods you put on your plate, the more likely you are to get all the nutrients you need. So cook in a variety of ways and really let off steam with different types of fruit and vegetables! Five portions of fruit and vegetables a day are recommended, with a portion being about a handful.

Legumes, nuts, seeds and wholegrain products are also part of a balanced diet. However, you should be cautious with sugar, meat and animal fats.

As a general rule, eat seasonally wherever possible and make sure you buy lots of natural foods! Nutrients can be lost during any processing. Raw or gently cooked foods therefore provide you with the best nutrition.

If your diet is not always optimal or you want to do even more for your health, you can also take high-quality nutritional supplements. We recommend our Dr. Rilling Healthcare SILICIUM PRIME and SILICIUM LIQUID for the immune system, as the vitamin D they contain supports the normal functioning of the immune system. They also contain the following nutrients:

Vitamin D (in both products) contributes to the normal function of the immune system and has a function in cell division. Unlike most other vitamins, we can hardly get enough vitamin D from our diet. This is particularly the case with an unbalanced diet. Most of it is produced by sunlight or can be supplied via food supplements.
Vitamin K2 (in both products) contributes to normal blood clotting and supports you in this way.
Calcium (in SILICIUM PRIME) contributes to normal energy metabolism, has a function in cell division and specialization and contributes to normal signal transmission between nerve cells.
Magnesium (in SILICIUM PRIME
) contributes to normal energy metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It also has a function in cell division and contributes to normal psychological functions.

Supply your immune system with enough of the important active ingredients and your health will thank you for it!
