Nutrients
for healthy bone growth in children - these are the most important tips

A strong and healthy skeletal system is crucial for the growth and development of children. This is why it is so important that they are provided with all the necessary nutrients to ensure optimal bone growth. In this blog post, we look at the key nutrients that are essential for healthy bone growth in children. Here’s how to make sure your children grow up healthy and strong.

How the different nutrients are connected

The body is a complex system with many different functions, cycles and modes of action. This is why it is not just a single nutrient that is important, but a good interplay of different substances. This can be explained using the image of a chain: Many macro- and micronutrients intertwine to ensure good bone growth. They therefore form a chain. If you only focus on a single nutrient when you have problems, you may strengthen this one link in the chain, but the chain as a whole will not become stronger as a result. That’s why you should focus on a varied and nutritious diet for your children in order to optimally support their bone growth. Nevertheless, there are of course some nutrients that are particularly important for healthy bone growth in children. We will now introduce you to some of these.

The most important nutrients for bone growth

If there is a deficiency of the following nutrients, it is particularly easy for bone growth to be impaired:

Vitamin D

Vitamin D plays a special role among the vitamins. It is hardly ever absorbed through food. Instead, the skin produces vitamin D itself if it gets enough sunlight. Children should therefore regularly be out in the fresh air and get plenty of sunlight. In addition, vitamin K2 is very important so that the D vitamin can be well utilized.

Calcium

Calcium (often spelled calcium) is one of the main components of bones. The best known and most important source of calcium is milk. Pure or in the form of yogurt, cheese and quark, milk is rich in calcium and also provides children with important proteins. We have summarized the other alternatives to milk here

Magnesium

Magnesium is an essential mineral that is important for bone formation and many other processes in the body. Magnesium interacts closely with calcium. The body can only incorporate the bone mineral calcium if it has enough magnesium. Good sources of magnesium are green vegetables, wholegrain products, pulses, nuts and seeds.

Food supplements for bone health

A balanced diet is very important for healthy development. But this is not always enough. This is when nutritional supplements are a good support. Dr. Rilling has developed SILICIUM PLUS for this purpose. In addition to calcium, it also contains magnesium for healthy bones. Our SILICIUM PRIME also contains the valuable vitamins D3 and K2.

Matching articles: SILICIUM PLUS and SILICIUM PRIME contain calcium and magnesium, which contribute to the maintenance of normal bones. SILICIUM PRIME also contains vitamin D and K, which also contribute to the maintenance of healthy bones.
