Bacillus Subtilis (DSM 21097) is an exogenous bacterium from Russian research. The combination of silicon and Bacillus subtilis in food supplements and natural cosmetics is uniquely patented. It has been recognized in numerous experiments that the spread of the active lactic acid bacterium is multiplied billions of times by the addition of silicon. This means that Bacillus subtilis needs silicon in order to multiply.
The spectrum of microorganisms is constantly being expanded. Various Bacillus subtilis strains, among others, have gained particular importance in recent years. Due to its positive properties, Bacillus subtilis was named Microbe of the Year in 2023 by the VAAM (Association for General and Applied Microbiology).
In contrast to many other types of bacteria, the Bacillus subtilis strains, as acid-stable spores (survival forms of vegetative bacteria), survive the passage through the stomach and thus reach the intestine without major losses. Here, the spores develop into vegetative forms of the bacterium. These are characterized by an active metabolism.
